윈도우7: 작업표시줄의 알림 영역에 자주 사용하는 아이콘을 위치시키는 방법
윈도우7을 사용하면서 불편한 점이 있다면, 작업표시줄(Taskbar)의 알림 영역에 일부 아이콘만 표시되어, 나머지 아이콘을 실행하려면 삼각형 모양의 버튼을 클릭하여 숨겨진 아이콘을 표시해야 합니다. 개인적으로 USB 이동식 저장 장치를 제거할 때 이러한 불편을 많이 느꼈습니다.
이러한 불편을 해결하기 위한 방법 2가지를 소개합니다.
첫번째 방법은, 이전 윈도우 버전처럼, 알림 영역에 모든 아이콘을 표시하는 것입니다.
1. 다음 그림과 같이 삼각형 모양의 아이콘을 클릭하고, [사용자 지정...]을 클릭합니다.
2. [작업 표시줄에 항상 모든 아이콘 및 알림 표시] 항목을 선택하고 확인 버튼을 누릅니다.
두번째 방법은 알림 영역에 표시를 원하는 아이콘만 표시되도록 하는 방법입니다.
실제 알림 영역에 표시되는 아이콘들 중에는 거의 사용하지 않는 것들도 많으므로, 작업표시줄을 깔끔하게 관리하는 측면에서는 이 방법이 더 낫다고 생각합니다.
1. 아래 그림과 같이, 숨겨진 아이콘 중에서 원하는 아이콘만 마우스로 드래그하여 작업표시줄로 이동하면, 이 아이콘은 항상 표시됩니다.

애드혹(Ad hoc) 설정으로 무선 네트워크를 통해 인터넷 연결 공유
유/무선 네트워크를 모두 지원하는 노트북이나 올인원 PC에서 유선 네트워크에 연결되어 있을 경우, 윈도우7의 애드혹(Ad hoc) 네트워크 만들기를 통해 무선으로 인터넷 연결 공유 서비스를 제공할 수 있습니다.
다음 설명에서 유선 네크워크에 연결된 노트북 컴퓨터를 Host-PC라고 하고, Host-PC에 무선으로 연결할 다른 노트북 컴퓨터를 Client-PC라 합니다.
1. Host-PC에서 [무선 네트워크 관리]를 실행하고, 무선 네트워크 연결을 추가합니다.
2. 다음 그림과 같이 [애드혹 네트워크 만들기]를 클릭합니다.
3. 다음 화면에서 애드혹 네트워크에 대한 설명 내용을 검토하고, 다음 단계로 넘어갑니다.
4. 다음 화면에서 네트워크 이름, 보안키(8자리 이상)를 입력하고 “이 네트워크 저장” 항목을 선택 후, 다음 단계로 넘어갑니다.
5. 다음 그림과 같이 에드혹 네크워크를 사용할 준비가 완료됩니다.
6. 무선 네트워크 관리에서 새로운 애드혹 네트워크 연결이 만들어진 것을 확인합니다.
7. Client-PC의 연결 가능한 무선 네트워크 목록에서 새로 만든 애드혹 네트워크 연결을 찾은 후, 무선 네트워크 연결을 시도합니다.

On Monday, Tami Reller, Corporate Vice President of Windows & Windows Live announced the availability of first public beta of Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 SP1 at annual Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC).
The Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Betas are concurrent releases and packaged together in a single download for a more streamlined and cost effective deployment. Businesses can begin realizing the advancements of the Windows Server platform for virtualization through two key features: Dynamic Memory and RemoteFX.
Dynamic Memory Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V introduces a new feature, called Dynamic Memory, in the Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Beta releases. It allows customers to achieve increased density when they’re consolidating physical servers into a virtual realm, providing them with predictable performance and linear scalability. With Dynamic Memory, IT administrators are able to pool available memory on a physical host and then dynamically dole that memory out to virtual machines running on the host, based on current workload needs.
RemoteFX A key feature of Remote Desktop Services (RDS) lets IT administrators deliver a rich graphics experience to end-users through virtualized desktops. Using new protocol enhancements between Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7, end users can now access virtual machines on a wide variety of target devices and still get a rich graphics experience with server-side graphics processing.
A beta build of Windows 7 has already made available to testers earlier this month which was compiled on June 3 with the number 7601.16562.100603-1800. To download beta bits of Service Pack 1, visit on TechNet Evaluation Center page.

Windows 7 Professional의 최종 사용자 다운그레이드(Downgrade) 기간 연장

Windows 7 Professional 및 Ultimate 버전에 포함된 최종 사용자의 Downgrade 권리 행사 기간이 연장될 예정입니다. 당초 Windows 7 발표 시점에 공지된 내용으로는 Downgrade 권리 기간이 Windows 7 SP1 발표 시점 또는 WIndows 7 발표 + 18개월 중 짧은 기간으로 정해질 예정이었으나, 아래 내용은 Windows 7이 단종되는 시점까지 Downgrade 권리 행사 기간을 연장한다는 내용입니다. 따라서 Windows 7 Professional을 구입한 고객은 Windows 7 단종 시점까지 Windows XP Professional로 다운그레이드 하여 사용할 수 있습니다.
Here comes another wise move by Microsoft, the company announced that Windows XP will continue to be available via Windows 7 downgrade rights. When Windows 7 RTM’d, Microsoft stated that end-users could downgrade right Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate editions preinstalled on a new PC would allow a customer to downgrade to either Windows XP Professional or similar Windows Vista versions for 18 months, or until the availability of SP1, whichever came sooner.
However another announcement has been made just before Official Windows XP SP2 expiration. Now end-user can downgrade Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate editions preinstalled on a new PC to either Windows XP Professional or similar Windows Vista versions until Windows 7 lifecycle is discontinued.
Brandon LeBlanc, Windows Team Blog says-
To support our customers “unprecedented move” to migrate their PC environment to Windows 7, we have decided to extend downgrade rights to Windows XP Professional beyond the previously planned end date at Windows 7 SP1. This will help maintain consistency for downgrade rights throughout the Windows 7 lifecycle. As a result, the OEM versions of Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate will continue to include downgrade rights to the similar versions of Windows Vista or Windows XP Professional.
As per current Windows lifecycle policy, the company allows retailers to sell the boxed version of the previous OS for up to a year after release of a new OS, and that OEMs can sell PCs with the previous OS pre-loaded for up to 2 years after, the launch date of the new OS. which clearly states that retailers will be able to sell the boxed version of Windows Vista until October 22, 2010, and OEMs will be able to sell PCs with Windows Vista preinstalled until October 22, 2011.

윈도우7 탐색기에서 “상위 폴더로 이동” 버튼 추가 방법
XP와는 달리 윈도우7 및 비스타의 탐색기(Explorer)에는 상위 폴더(부모 폴더)로 이동하는 버튼이 없습니다. “ClassicShell” 도구를 사용하면, 상위 폴더로 이동하는 버튼을 추가할 수 있습니다. 추가로 “ClassicShell” 도구는 시작 메뉴를 클래식(Classic) 스타일로 변경하는 기능도 제공합니다.
Step 1: 최신 버전의 ClassicShell (32bit and 64 bit 모두 사용 가능)을 다운로드 합니다.
Step 2: 설치를 시작합니다. 만약 클래식 시작 메뉴 항목의 변경을 원하지 않을 경우, “Classic Start Menu” 항목은 uncheck 하십시오.
Step 3: 탐색기의 [폴더 옵션] 메뉴를 엽니다. [구성] 버튼을 열고 [폴더 및 검색 옵션] 항목을 클릭하면, [폴더 옵션] 메뉴를 열 수 있습니다.
Step 4: [보기] 탭에서 [메뉴 항상 표시] 항목을 선택합니다. 
Step 5: 새로 표신된 메뉴의 빈 영역에서 마우스 오른쪽 버튼을 클릭하면, “Classic Explorer Bar” 항목이 나타납니다. 이 항목을 선택합니다.
Step 6: 다음으로 “ClassicShell” 아이콘을 클릭합니다.
Step 7: 아래 그림과 같이 설정 메뉴에서 “Show Up button in the title bar” 항목을 선택한 뒤, “OK” 버튼을 클릭합니다.
Step 8: 다음 그림과 같이 부모 폴더로 이동할 수 있는 버튼이 추가됩니다.
